Mardi Gras is my favorite, the holiday is fun. We eat king cake, see floats, and some people yell, “Throw me something, mister!” A lot of people go to [the events]. The band plays during that season. All of the folks stand.

Mardi Gras masks are green, yellow, and purple, and there’s no school. It is fun to see that many people. It’s loud, the kids yell if they’re excited, and we get prizes (beads and toys). The beads get on to their neck. It can be funny but fun. This Mardi Gras.

I love when people play drums; it’s good to watch. We say happy Mardi Gras to you and We sing “Mardi Gras Mambo.” Good thing we do this. Don’t just worry about the noise. We do fun stuff during that season.

Some families do [different] things. It is a plan everybody has a good time. It’s about special events that happen. It is great to celebrate.
